When you attend your first session it will be an opportunity to get to know you and talk about your goals.

I charge $190.00 for a 60-90 minute session.

EMDR consultation individual session $170/hr and group consultation $100/person

The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about my therapy practice and for you to let me know what it is you would like help with. We can determine whether we are a good fit to work together.

I accept cash, cheque and e-transfer.

Social work services are exempt from HST.

You will be charged for scheduled sessions that you fail to attend. I require 24 hours notice of a cancellation. Sometimes, in extenuating situations, if you call, we can make alternate arrangements. For example, it doesn’t make sense to attend your counselling appointment if you wake up and don’t feel well. It’s best to call and discuss your situation with me.

Some people have coverage for counselling by a social worker through their insurance. In preparation for your counselling appointment it helps to contact your insurance provider to find out details such as how many sessions your coverage provides for, or how much money is allotted for counselling appointments. Some plans require prior approval for funding before the appointment so you may be responsible for payment if you have not received authorization for counselling. I will provide receipts for payments so that you may submit them to your insurance provider.

Everything you discuss with a social worker is confidential. Notes of the session will be kept in a program which is secure. The only exceptions to confidentiality are if information is disclosed about a child being a risk, or if information is given about potential harm to self or another person, or if records were subpoenaed by the court. When I get supervision, I would only give non-identifying information.

Yes! I am registered as a Mental Health Provider with Indigenous Services Canada. Indigenous people with a status card are eligible for Non-insured Health Benefits. Sessions will be directly billed through a program called Express Scripts.
